Description
The Guides to German Records Microfilmed at Alexandria, VA, constitute a series of finding aids to the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) microfilm publications of seized records of German central, regional, and local government agencies and of military commands and units, as well as of the Nazi Party, its component formations, affiliated associations, and supervised organizations. For the most part, these records were created during the period 1920-45. The guide series was initiated as a microfilming project of the Committee for the Study of War Documents of the American Historical Association (AHA) in cooperation with the National Archives and the Department of the Army. With the termination of AHA participation in July 1963, the National Archives assumed sole responsibility for the reproduction of records and the preparation of the guides. Although NARA has prepared 10 additional guides to the series and updated some earlier versions, those guides in T733 should only be considered current as of the date they were filmed.
